Program Overview

The Master in Applied Project Management (MAPM) is designed to bridge theory and practice with real-world business and technology applications. This innovative program prepares future project leaders with the knowledge, skills, and ethical grounding to lead complex projects in a dynamic global environment.

The program emphasizes a learn-by-doing approach by integrating globally recognized project management standards and professional certification pathways. The foundation — Project Management in Practice — is structured to align with the PMBOK® Guide from the Project Management Institute (PMI), ensuring strong grounding in standards and educational requirements to pursue PMI certifications.

Building on the foundation, students specialize in one of four applied tracks: Sustainability, Supply Chain Management, Consulting, and Information Systems. Each is connected with corresponding professional associations, preparing students for industry-recognized professional credentials.

Capstone: Work-Integrated Learning

MAPM 699 — Where Theory Meets Practice

This capstone integrates prior learning across the MAPM through a Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) model. Students apply project management knowledge, consulting methods, leadership practices, and track-specific tools to real or simulated organizational challenges in partnership with Alluvion Games.

The course emphasizes professional readiness, applied decision-making, and evidence-based recommendations. Students produce an end-to-end capstone deliverable including problem diagnosis, integrated strategy, implementation roadmap, risk/governance considerations, and measurable value outcomes, culminating in an executive presentation to an academic-industry review panel.
